Landet anyone?
Idea:
I have been kicking around this idea for some time and finally wanted to open up a thread to invite anyone to join to "landet".
Details:
I have a large country place just outside Rimbo (Fasterna Kyrka or Gillberga area), and was thinking to ride from Stockholm on a Saturday morning, spend the night, BBQ, drink, whatever, and then ride back the next day. Google maps says it's about 80km (by car), and the country roads around there are nice and slow with twists and a favorite for cyclist and motorcyclist. If that's too long though (either there or back) then we could take the Pendaltåg to Upplands Väsby and ride from there vs. take the Pendaltåg back to Stockholm. Depending on how many want to join, there should be space for everyone to crash inside on the floor/loft (we have 6 extra foam mattresses, 4 couches, two double beds, air mattresses, etc.) and there is running water, full kitchen, shower, and the bathroom is an utedass. Swimming is about 400 meters but you have to cross a farm/cow field that sometimes has a bull (that's fun). Otherwise just outside Rimbo is a great swimming/beach place without the bull.
The nearest Konsum/ICA/Systemet is in Rimbo (about 12km) but there is a Statoil closer (8km)

Dates:
Was thinking the last week of August (28-29) or first week of September (4-5), depending on what works best for everyone and/or weather forecast.
Anyone up for this?
Also, suggestions on the route are welcome as I have no clue what's best.
Freddy, Sönke, Jakob, Deus, Bubblan, Speedman, ArvidSvensson, the guys from the Falun trip, and whoever else... Everyone's invited.

Was looking at the map, and cycling along the E4 can be a bit hard
So what about this one? Might be gravel though, not sure!

Re: Landet anyone?
That's only about 50 km from Uppsala, maybe we could and should join in? That is a great day trip... not sure I'm free any of those weekends, but it could be nice warm up for the Retaard, I'm sure there's some nice gravel on the way out there.
Re: Landet anyone?
He he sure thing - Or Jakob in combination with an angry bull cant fail!Jonas.F wrote:Sounds awesome!

Re: Landet anyone?
What are you guys talking about, E4 is a perfect route... plenty of lanes. No, I don't know the best route but am hoping that one of you guys do. It also looks like the September weekend is working better for everyone.
I don't know really how best to bring the food/beer, as no one has mentioned taking a car out there. That would be great if there was, but I think we are on our own. I have charcoal and stuff already there but food wise it's pretty empty and dry. Depending on the route we take, there is an ICA on the way or should we ride through Rimbo (one big hill) on the way to pick stuff up, or even the StatOil market on the way? I do have my car out there but haven't started in in like two years so I'm not sure it would run, not to mention that it is "parked" as far as insurance and vägverket is concerned. My neighbor might also be out there in which case I could borrow his car maybe but that's a big "might" on him being there...
The ICA (Lunda Livs) is here: http://maps.google.se/maps?f=d&source=s ... 6&t=h&z=17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And from there I know a nice paved route using mostly smaller roads to my place. I just don't know how best to get there on a bike.
Up for ideas.

Re: Landet anyone?
Weather permitting, September 4th - 5th.
Hoping a lot of people can join, I also have movies and stuff in case we want to watch something (cycling or other) as we have a DVD and VHS players out there.
